Starting on the banks of the Rječina River, near a historic bank building, the race culminates at a 138-meter-high plateau. To reach the finish line, participants must conquer the legendary 561 steps built by Petar Kružić in 1531, with an additional 91 meters of elevation. The stairway, expanded to 538 steps in its lower part, features a Baroque entrance hall in the form of a triumphal arch, added in the 18th century. Along the way, runners pass four votive chapels, each built in a different century (15th to 18th), adding a layer of historical and spiritual significance to the journey.
