WHS Jingle Bell 5k

REGISTRATION FEES: 

$30 by Nov. 5 - All runners registered by Nov. 5 are guaranteed a race tobogan. $35 after Nov. 5 Race day registration is $35

Check in is from 8:00–9:00 am. Parking, check in, and race day registration will be at the Mardela Athletic Complex at 210 Station St., Mardela Springs, MD 21837. The race officially starts at 9:00. All finishers earn a finisher medal after crossing the finish line. Registration includes a race day shirt, a bib number (with timing chip FOR 5K), water and refreshments after completion of the race. Shirts will be available for pickup on race day for participants registering by November 5. Participants registering after that will receive a race toboggan as long as the supply lasts.

*CHILDREN 4 & UNDER DO NOT NEED TO PAY FOR REGISTRATION. Depending on paid registrants there may not be enough finisher medals for children not paid for. If you want a medal guaranteed for your child in a stroller please register by November 5!

**CHILDREN 12 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT OR HAVE A WAIVER SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN THE MORNING OF THE RACE.  Please plan to inform the registration table on race day if your children 12 and under are going to participate in the day's events. 

There will be awards for first through third place in the 5K for the following categories:

There will also be an award for best holiday costume. Timing for this race will be on one timer visible at the start and finish line. If you would like exact timing for you, feel free to use your own GPS or phone timer. Water will be available on the course. We will also have a collection fund for the Westside Historical Society so please consider bringing some cash to donate. 

Join us for the second annual Jingle All the Way 5k! This is going to be a fun and relaxed 3.1 miles throughout the beautiful historic town of Mardela Springs, MD. Situated directly on Barren Creek, Mardela Springs is located between Salisbury and Cambridge, Maryland, right off of Route 50. Many years ago travelers and tourists going to and from Ocean City had to go through Mardela Springs to get to their destination because the old Ocean Gateway or Rt. 50 (now Main Street) was the connection between the big cities and the eastern shore. The history in the area is tremendous. Runners will have the opportunity to see Barren Creek, the Barren Creek Spring House, Barren Creek Springs Church, the former Barren Creek Springs Hotel,  several historic homes, the Westside Historical Museum, and the Adkins Historical Complex. Runners, walkers, young and old are welcome! Feel free to wear your favorite holiday sweaters, shirts, hats, etc. and show your Christmas spirit. The course is leashed-dog friendly, wheelchair and stroller accessible. Volunteers will offer water throughout the course and snacks after completion. Drawings for prizes will be held at 10:30. All participants names will be put in the drawing but winners must be present to claim prizes. This day is all about building community by getting your body moving in the fresh air.

*Stay or come back a little later for our community Home for Christmas celebration from 1-5 pm. There will be food, music, tours, a scavenger hunt, and Santa’s Workshop.
