Trans Augrabies MTB

From 2025 we are transitioning to a 2-day stage race, offering a fresh twist on the adventure you know and love.

The Trans-Augrabies MTB & Gravel Bike - 2-Day Stage Race will take riders through the majestic Green Kalahari region of South Africa, following the unique landscapes that make up the Augrabies Falls National Park and its surrounding area - covering more than 172 Kilometers over several types of terrain and expected weather conditions. Riders and companions will get to discover a region of our country recently rated under the Top Ten Adventure destinations by Rough Guides.

A vast and desolate land contrasted by the green and vibrant valley of the mighty Gariep (Orange) River.

We invite Mountain bike and Gravel bike riders to join us on this unforgettable adventure. E-bikes are welcome to join but cannot compete for the prizes.

The Handicap Timekeeping System is the First of its kind in South Africa! By using a formula, we are levelling the timekeeping playfield for riders of any age and gender to compete for the Overall Handicap Position. This formula gives advantage to the veterans and females to see how they compare to the young and fiery racing snakes in the prime of their sports career.

It is by no means an easy race, but riders will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and an authentic Northern Cape regional experience.
