The Island Theater 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

October 29th, 8:00 A.M., Fleming Island, FL, 1860 Town Hall Circle, Suite 54

All registrants receive an Island Theater T-Shirt and all participants that complete the 5K race or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will receive a Finisher Medal.

This event will benefit The Island Theater. We are so excited to hold our first annual 5k Race and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. As a community theater performing Broadway plays and musicals, we'd like to encourage all participants to dress up as their favorite character(s). The 5K race will be timed by Florida Race Day and results will be available for all participants immediately after the race. This event has something for everybody, you can run the 5K (3.1 miles) or run/walk the 1-Mile Fun Run. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in on the fun. All participants will receive a T-Shirt in their running packet and every participant that finishes the 5K race or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, will receive a finishers medal. Wheelchairs and Strollers are permitted, Bikes, skates, skate shoes, skateboards, and scooters are prohibited.  

General Description:

The Island Theater provides theatrical education in the form of Broadway plays and musicals. This is accomplished through workshops, mainstage performances, summer camps, talent shows, and charitable events. As a theatre house, we desire to have a positive influence on the youth of Clay County and surrounding areas, through offering fun-filled workshops for ages five through nineteen. In doing so, we provide children and youth with an alternative to where and how they decide to spend their time. The Island Theater is a place where many within our community call home. 

Aside from our amazing volunteers who graciously donate their time; the Managing Directors, the Donors, and the Sponsors, raise money throughout the year to give away scholarships to kids who cannot afford the minimal fee to participate in a workshop. The Island Theater is proud to promote social awareness, education, and change, through producing live-theatrical quality events, while supporting charitable organizations connected to the arts. As a 501C, The Island Theater depends on the generosity of others to maintain a higher level of excellence and for the funding of our operating budget within a fiscal year. 

It is our mission to introduce the community to live theater in a manner that creates an opportunity for individuals of all ages to fall in love with the arts. A love that encourages others to become a part of something bigger than themselves. A love that impacts the lives of individuals, in a way that effects positive change in their lives and the lives of others. 

Packet Pickup:

Packets will be available for pickup on race day between 7:00am - 7:50am at 1860 Town Hall Circle, Suite 54, Fleming Island FL 32003 

Timing Chips:

The 5K race will be timed using a bib chip. Timing will be conducted by Florida Race Day.  All runners and walkers must have a race bib with timing chip to participate in the event.

Parking:

Parking is available within the Town Hall areas surrounding The Island Theater.

Awards:

The top three overall male and female finishers will receive an award. Awards will be based on time. In addition, the top finisher in the following categories will be recognized as well: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, over 60.

Registration:

$35 until October 29th

T-shirts sizes are guaranteed to all participants who register prior to October 24th. T-shirt sizes are S, M, L and XL. 

Race Day Registration ($35) is available until 7:45am (T-shirts or sizes are not guaranteed on race day).
