The Schlitz Park 5K Run by the River is the only downtown 5K and 2-mile walk that takes runners along the Milwaukee Riverwalk, through Brewer's Hill and around the historic Schlitz Brewery turned office campus. The 5K race was started by the late Gary Grunau, the previous owner of the Schlitz Park campus whose impact on both development and philanthropy changed the downtown scene as we know it.

The Schlitz Park 5K Run by the River and 2-Mile Walk attracts more than 500 runners that include individuals, teams, corporate partners and Milwaukee community members. Each year the 5K has generated thousands of dollars in funds for the selected beneficiary.

New event activations this year include the Tap Yard Beer Garden, live music and a Riverwalk marketplace.
