When?  April 1, 2023. Check-in and LATE Registration for 5k opens at 3:00pm and ends at 5:30pm.  Race begins at 6pm and will be followed by awards.

                                         Check-in and LATE Registration for the Kids Run opens at 3:00pm and ends at 5:00pm. Race begins at 5:30pm. 

Where?  Sulphur Rock Elementary

Sulphur Rock Charitable Organizations FANS is a nonprofit 501(c) organization. All proceeds will go toward our PHASE 2 to rebuild Ms. Johnnie's playground.

What?    Come out with your family and friends and run or walk our family friendly 5km race course! We will also have a shorter distance race for younger children, the distance will be less than 0.5 mile. The theme is SUPERHERO so dress as your favorite superhero, or better yet, dress up as a team! Winning categories will include fastest times for age groups, overall, best dressed, and more. Lots of chances to win! We will have t-shirts and goodie bags. Oakley Kramer Timing Plus will do the race timing with bibs and chips. Door prizes at the award ceremony!

In conjunction with our upcoming Sulphur Rock Super Hero Family 5K on March 31st, FANS is holding an athletic shoe drive fundraiser to raise money for PHASE 2 of MS. JOHNNIE’S PLAYGROUND!

FANS will earn funds based on the total quantity of gently worn, used, and new sneakers collected. GotSneakers, a social enterprise, will issue funds in compensation for the collected sneakers. Those funds will benefit MS. JOHNNIE’S PLAYGROUND!

Anyone can help by simply donating gently worn, used, and new sneakers.

GotSneakers has developed a unique fundraising program that asks communities to reach into their closets, not their pockets! The sneaker recycling program helps keeps sneakers out of landfills, which has harmful effects on our environment, and helps organizations like ours raise much needed funds. Here is how you can donate:

1. There will be collection boxes placed in the school near the office and in the area next to the conference room.

• You can bring your sneakers to the office or send them in a sack for your child to drop into the collection boxes.

2. There will be collection boxes placed near the registration table at our upcoming Super Hero Family 5K. Just bring them to the event and drop them in the box. FANS will do the rest!
