About Us:
Join us for the the 6th Annual Love for Smiles 5K and the Children's Smile Mile. Presented with the support of The High Desert Runners, to raise money for the charity Smile Train. Your registration for this event will go toward creating a SMILE on a child’s face and change that child’s life forever. You will be a SMILE Maker!!

Smile Train is the world’s leading cleft charity. They partner with doctors and hospitals around the world to provide free surgery for children suffering from cleft lip and palate. If you aren’t familiar, clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are more than one million children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. They aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. Some children are even abandoned and left to die. Children born with clefts are forced into lives of isolation and shame- all because of the way they look. And their clefts usually go untreated because they are poor. Too poor to pay for a simple surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes.

Awards:
Custom designed Cow Bells and T-Shirts for the first 150 participants.  Train Whistle for all Smile Mile participants. All age group award winners will receive their sticker to place the side of your cow bell.
 
Course:
We will start the race at Westside Christian Fellowship.  The course will be on the road. Basically 1.5 miles up Leona Ave and back down with a turn up a side street. The 5K is an accurately measured course.  This 5K is a chip timed event.
    
Nutrition:
Water for all participants. There will not be a water station on the course so feel free to grab a water at the start or finish.
 
Packet Pickup: Saturday morning from  6:45-7:45 at the race.  At Westside Christian Fellowship
 
Race Day Registration:
Saturday morning from 6:45-7:45, at Westside Christian Fellowship.  You will be picking up everything before you start the race.
