GARMIN Mountain Festival - Vall de Boi

The Garmin Epic Trail Vall de Boí 42K is a marathon-distance race on a technical and spectacular route with 2,800 m of positive gradient and a total of 5,600 m of accumulated gradient. It consists of a circular route through the peripheral area of ​​the National Park and the mountains surrounding the Vall de Boí. Starting and finishing in the town of Barruera, the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici Lake National Park is one of the fourteen national parks in Spain and the only one in Catalonia. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, together with the Ordesa and Monte Perdido parks and the French Pyrenees park, it is an excellent representation of the main ecosystems that can be discovered in the high mountains. The Garmin Epic Trail Vall de Boí 12K is a popular, short-distance race that runs along a pleasant, low-tech route, with easy paths and trails and a total of 1,000m of accumulated elevation gain. It consists of a circular route through the lower area of ​​the Vall de Boí, starting and finishing in the town of Barruera. The route will take participants to Erill la Vall along the paths parallel to the Noguera de Tor river, from there a short climb to the town of Boí where they will access the Camí del Pago offering magnificent views over the valley to reach Durro from where a quick descent along the Durro riuet will return them to Barruera. The Vall de Boí is a region located in the Pyrenees of Catalonia, Spain, known for its rich heritage of natural heritage and Romanesque architecture. This area has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique ensemble of Romanesque churches, which represent one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Europe.
