The organizers for this race do a great job taking care of the runners.
The course is mainlyu wooded single track. There are lots of hills. The hills never seem to end. This is a very challenging course due to the elevation gain and the Central IL heat and humidity. If you finish, and that is not guaranteed even though time limits are generous, then you have bragging rights about completing one of the hardest trail races in Illinois!
Abput a third of the runners for the 50K had to drop out of the race. The race was that tough.
