Trail Marathon Heidelberg

The Trail Marathon in Heidelberg, one of Germany's most picturesque cities, is a unique marathon in the country. It takes the athletes through the city's stunning old town, but also over difficult trails and multiple mountains around the Neckar. The runners will come across many remarkable sites such as the old bridge, the philosophers trail, the holy mountain and the renowned Heidelberg Castle. An extraordinary test is the legendary "Himmelsleiter" or the heavens ladder, which is made of 800 natural sandstone stairs. To reach the finish line at the Karlsplatz in the old town, with its breathtaking view of the castle, is an accomplishment truly worthy of admiration. This marathon is quite a feat, with 1,500 meters of altitude difference, and is only suitable for experienced trail runners.
