Serifos Sunset Race

Serifos Sunset Race 2021 is a special event featuring running races of 5, 10, and 20km, and swimming races of 750, 1,500, and 3,000m. Kids will also have the opportunity to join the running and swimming races. The 5 and 10km race will start from Vagia beach, and will take participants to Koutalas bay, passing through Vagia, Ganema, and Koutalas beaches while admiring the lovely Cycladic landscape and the spectacular sunset. The 20km race, known as one of the most difficult races in Greece, will start from Serifos' harbor, towards Livadi, and then Kalo Ampeli, Vagia, Ganema, and Koutalas, culminating at Vagia beach. Swimmers of 750, 1,500, and 3,000 meters will swim at Livadi bay on Sunday the 26th of September. The running races will be held on a different day from the swimming races, allowing participants to join both activities and receive special discounts. Serifos Sunset Race is proud to announce its collaboration with the SeaChange Greek Islands program of Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, which is an initiative to protect the marine environment in Cyclades. The SeaChange Greek Islands team will be present in Serifos during the event, to clean the beaches with the help of the participants and run educational activities. As part of this collaboration, the event will be “plastic free”, avoiding the use of disposable plastic and participating in all the actions of the SeaChange Greek Islands program that will take place during the event. Health protocols shall be taken throughout the event to comply with Covid-19 regulations. All participants must have a vaccination or disease certificate or a molecular PCR Test with them (for Covid 19) 48 hours prior to the start of the races and make sure that the Covid tests are negative or a Rapid Test (48 hours prior). The results of the Covid 19 tests need to be posted in this website: https://self-testing.gov.gr/ . Participants in the 20km race and swimmers will need to provide a medical certificate from a cardiologist issued up to 2 months before the event. Excluding active athletes who should have a corresponding health card with them.Serifos Sunset Race 2021 will be held in Co – Organization with the South Aegean Region under the Municipality of Serifos and with the full support of the Serifos Tourism Committee and local associates (AO Serifos, Commercial Association, Association of Rooms and Apartments, Serifia Association, ‘’Andromeda’’ Women’s Association).
