We are currently working with the Parks Department to reschedule our original date due to low registration numbers, but we hope that you will consider joining us for our new date.  Join A Cure In Sight for a walk or run that goes beyond the scenic beauty of Fort Hunt Park. Together, we'll take steps to combat Ocular Melanoma, a rare eye cancer that is diagnosed in approximately 3,000 new cases each year across the United States. Bring your friends and family—all ages are welcome to walk or run with us.

Experience Beauty While You Run

Embark on a beautiful, picturesque journey through Fort Hunt Park along the beautiful Mount Vernon Trail. Mount Vernon Trail is a popular recreation resource and critical regional transportation connection. The trail hosts over one million pedestrians and bicyclists annually. During peak periods, the trail north of Alexandria is one of the most heavily used multi-use trails in the country. The National Park Service originally constructed the Mount Vernon Trail in the 1970s and 1980s. The Mount Vernon Trail winds alongside the Potomac River offering uninterrupted views of Washington, D.C.'s skyline. A run, walk, or cycle along the trail leads to all of the same sites that can be reached by car on the parallel section of the parkway, offering you a unique opportunity to connect with nature while contributing to a noble cause.
