Jim Dunn Memorial Scholarship Twilight 5-Miler
In Person run will be Friday, September 6th at 7:00pm OR
Virtual Run September 1st-September 5th at noon, 2024

Time:
In person runners need to report to the lower-level Wharf Street parking garage to check-in Friday, September 6th between 5:00pm-6:45. The race starts at 7:00pm at Clay Street/ Wharf Street Parking Garage.

Virtual runners can run at their leisure between September 1st-September 5th. Final uploads of results due on September 5th at Noon.

In person runners will gather on Clay Street just outside the Wharf Street Parking Garage.

Virtual runners-Though you can run & submit 5 miles from any well-lit course near your home, or our typical Jim Dunn Run course in Wharf District Morgantown. Only in person times qualifies for the MAGP.

Awards:
Awards will be given immediately following the last runner crossing the finish line. Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall runners as well as top male and top female in each of the following age groups:

Under 14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 + age groups

5-Mile Run Course
In person runners will gather on Clay Street just outside the Wharf Street Parking Garage. From there runners will follow Clay Street to the end, turn right onto the paved Caperton Rail trail and head North past Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park (HRMRP) to the WVU Core Arboretum (WVU CA). Upon entering the WVU CA, runners will encounter a single-track dirt trail until the midpoint of the loop back on the rail trail. Runners will complete the final 2 miles on the rail trail to the finish line near HRMRP just before the Decker’s Creek Bridge. Except for the slight uphill approach at the WVU CA the course is primarily flat or down hill.

2-Mile Walk Course
In person walkers will gather behind the runners on Clay Street just outside the Wharf Street Parking Garage. From there walkers will follow Clay Street to the end, turn left onto the paved Caperton Rail trail. You will walk 1-mile out toward the Waterfront Hotel to our turnaround point and return to the finish line located at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park & Amphitheater.
