The first 8 miles present 99% of the challenge of this race. Two separate hills will push runners hard but not extraordinarily so. The final 15 miles of the race are run alongside historic Oil Creek, with a full canopy of trees to protect runners from the elements.

The Half marathon features one slight and steep incline of about 200 meters and then is mostly and out and back on the same bicycle path the full marathoners will enter late in their own race.
