Allerton Park Trail Run

Greetings Runners! 

This is a trail race! Runners may find hidden roots, ruts, sharp turns, and other obstacles. The race course follows the river which has proven quite challenging over the years. We donate proceeds back for trail maintenance or park enhancements. They are quite gracious in support and ask how we would like our donations used. They have used our donation towards a railing at a dangerous spot, trail erosion control, recycle bins, water fountain bottle filling station, a new café in the visitor's center, and more. We feel quite lucky and blessed that the park allows us to bring so many into it and pound the trails.

The race ends in the meadow where you may gather with family and friends. Stay for a wonderful post-race costume contest!  We have an awards ceremony with many age group awards and many prize drawings. 

Even if you register for either race activity (Nature Walk or Trail Run) for Sunday October 27th, 2024, you may also still volunteer for Allerton. Responsibilities for volunteer opportunities will vary based on the opportunity you sign up for. The Race Director, a volunteer captain, or team lead will be available to provide direction or guidance as needed. Other experienced volunteers can also provide insights and advice. Further instructions and possibly training as needed or requested will be provided closer to the day of the event.

For safety purposes, no dogs allowed on the trail run or the nature walk.

Deadline to register and receive a shirt is Sunday, October 13th, 2024.  

**If participating in this race will qualify you for the Monticello Triple Crown, you MUST register by 10/13/24.**
