Wood River Run

The event celebrates Christian Wood, a promising kayaker who tragically lost his life on the James River. Proceeds support Friends of the James River Park, Christian Wood Scholarship Fund, and JRPS Education Department, focusing on improving educational opportunities and enhancing the park. This inclusive, family-oriented run features scenic views of the James River Park System. Participants receive a medal, and the top racers earn additional accolades. Shirts are now optional, contributing to the scholarship fund. Dogs on leashes and off-road strollers are welcome, promoting participation for all family members, while maintaining courteous conduct for safety.
