Tiny Footprints Remembrance 5K Run/Walk

In May of 2023, we unexpectedly and tragically lost one of our twin babies, Piper, in utero at 31 weeks. I was placed on constant monitoring and bedrest until our survivor, Juniper, was safely delivered 10 days following and spent 29 days in the NICU. This pain was and is incomprehensible, and no parent should ever have to go through it. Sadly, the rates of miscarriages, neonatal loss, and infant loss are higher than most think, and it's something that isn't often talked about. When we were going through this nightmare, it helped to have support of individuals who have had similar experiences as well support from the staff at the hospital, both in labor and delivery and in the NICU. My goal with this race is to honor our daughter and the other babies who never got to come earth side, and those who left earth far too soon. Proceeds will be donated to Covenant NICU, the bereavement program at Covenant who creates mementos for grieving parents and helps with support, as well as other charities to provide support and resources for grieving parents (TBD).
