The Moose - East Burke, VT

We've run The Moose for almost a decade.  We offer two distances, 103 miles from Mike's Tiki Bar in East Burke and 66 miles from the Essex House in Island Pond.

Roads are wide and "car hungry."  The 103 Miler is a "timed event."  You must follow the rules of the road and stop at all stop signs.  But, hey, there are only 3 in 103 miles.  You must defer to oncoming traffic when making a left hand turn,  But, hey, there are only three in 103 miles.  Prizes of Brault's Beef Jerky and Couture's Maple Syrup to the winners and placers, male and female.  We encourage riders to form teams of 3 to 10 riders and compete in our Team Challenge.  We take the fastest three times from each team to determine the winners of The Moose Wheel.  Each year we have some spirited competition.  For a map of the route, see:  The Moose 2021 - MapMyRide

The 66 miler starts and ends in Island Pond.  It covers the Moose Loop.  It is a non-competitive, fun ride. The Moose - Short Loop - Island Pond Start - MapMyRide

Every rider in each category gets $15 in Moose Money to be spent at Mike's Tiki Bar (with 30 beer on tap) and The Burrito Wagon (in East Burke) or at The Essex House in Island Pond.

We have returned to offering a shorter, but Majestic “cool down” Lake Region Ride on Sunday up into Sutton, down past Crystal Lake and through the Willoughby Gap.  Again  we start and finish at Mike';s Tiki Bar with $15 in Moose Money  Start time: 8:30 am in East Burke.
