The Blade 5K and 1Mile Walk

The Blade event, initiated by former Ironman Nate Wigdahl, emerged from a desire to support amputees in achieving an active lifestyle through the aid of specialized prosthetic devices. Nate, supported by Omaha's running community, held a successful fundraiser to acquire a running blade for himself after becoming an amputee. Subsequently awarded 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, the event expanded, assisting numerous individuals with custom devices including running blades, tandem bikes, and wheelchairs. Through both in-person and virtual engagements, The Blade grows community support, continuing to empower those with limb differences in leading active and healthy lives.
