Silk Route Ultra Trail - SRUT

Silk Route Ultra Trail – an ultra trail marathon hosted on the erst-while Silk Route before the roads took the center stage. The Silk Route was a historic trade route that dated from the second century B.C. until the 14th century A.D. It stretched from Asia to the Mediterranean, traversing China, India, Persia, Arabia, Greece, and Italy. It was dubbed the Silk Route because of the heavy silk trading that took place on this route during that period. It was the main trading route through Kinnaur, Rampur, Narkanda, Shimla, Kalka and reached Delhi. With the passage of time and the development of roads, this old route is forgotten and has become history. The Silk Route Ultra Trails is your chance to ramble through history on this long-forgotten route from Narkanda to Sarahan.
