Monet Richardson Community Foundation 5K Run & Walk - "Running With The Angels"

DESCRIPTION: 

Our 3rd 5K Run & Walk, the Monet Richardson Community Foundation 5K Run & Walk "Running with the Angels" is coming Saturday, March 23, 2024, to East Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill, attracting community supporters, students, families, businesses, media, volunteers, and more to support families in our communities. Bringing the community together for an inspirational run/walk to make a positive impact by creating awareness and support for youth.

Monet Richardson Community Foundation is a North Carolina-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing services and support to families by providing backpacks and scholarships one youth at a time. MRCF was founded as a result of our loss of Kristian Monet Richardson on May 16, 2021, in an automobile accident in Atlanta. MRCF is committed to carrying Krissy’s legacy as a philanthropist and humanitarian! Krissy strived to make a difference one person at a time.

Optional: Wear angel wings for our “RUNNING WITH THE ANGELS” inspiration. 

SCHEDULE:

Run/walk day is on Saturday, March 23, 2024, with early check-in at 8 AM and shotgun at 9 AM.  Arrive early to say hello to our sponsors and learn more about their services. Raffle Prizes representing A Chapel Hill/Carrboro Experience will be available. Amazing raffle packages include hotel stays, restaurants, jewelry, and more. Raffle Tickets are only $20 each. Please bring cash and or credit cards. You must be present to WIN!!! 

REGISTRATION:

Online pre-registration ends on 3/21/24 @ 12:00 AM. Onsite registration starts AGAIN at 8 am at EAST Chapel Hill HS. Onsite: Adult registration is $35 per person. For students ages 18 and under registration is $20 per person. Strollers welcome. Packet Pickup will be on 3/22/24 @ Fleet Feet Carrboro from 11 AM-6 pm. If registered by 2/23/24 you will receive a tee shirt with your registration. After 2/23/24, your registration will not include a tee shirt however we will have tee shirts available for purchase for $15 each. 

PRE-REGISTRATION WILL END ON MARCH 21 @ 12:00 AM UNTIL SATURDAY, MARCH 23 AT 12:01 AM. THIS ALLOWS THE TIMING COMPANY TO DO THEIR WORK BEHIND THE SCENE BEFORE 3/23/24!

FOR OUR 3RD YEAR WE WILL HAVE CHIP TIMING. RUNNERS WE ASK FOR YOUR SUPPORT AS WE CREATE AWARENESS, ADVOCACY, AND FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE BACKPACK & SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS. WE WILL ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS FOR THE AVID AND COMPETITIVE RUNNERS & WALKERS!

PRE & POST-RACE WORKOUTS AND STRETCHES ARE BROUGHT TO YOU BY ORANGE THEORY FITNESS.

CHAPEL HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE ON-SITE ON THE COURSE ASSISTING WITH SAFETY AND TRAFFIC. THIS IS A USATF-CERTIFIED 5K COURSE. 

SILENT AUCTION:

We are hosting a silent auction AGAIN this year with amazing items donated from hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, retail, etc., from vendors in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, Durham, Raleigh, and surrounding areas. Please bring cash and or credit cards. Our Silent Auction will open on March 15, 2024, for bids online. You DO NOT have to be present at the 5K event to win silent auction items.
