Huntsville Botanical Garden Arbor Day 5k Race and 3k Sapling Run

National Arbor Day is a nationwide celebration of the importance of trees and their impact on our communities. Huntsville Botanical Garden is celebrating Arbor Day with a 5k Race and 3k Sapling Run on Saturday, April 26, 2025! 

This event will have a staggered start with the 5k Race beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the 3k Sapling Run beginning at 8:15 a.m. The 5k Race is a chip-timed event, and the 3k Sapling Run is not timed. Both races take place on paved and gravel roads throughout Huntsville Botanical Garden. 

Pets, headphones, and non-registered participants over the age of three are not permitted on the course. Strollers are welcome for the 3k Sapling Run only. All participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Huntsville Botanical Garden (4747 Bob Wallace Avenue) 
Saturday, April 26, at 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. 

ENTRY FEES: 

5k Race 

$30 prior to 3/1 or $40 beginning 3/1 

3k Fun Run 

Ages 11+ - $25 prior to 3/31 or $35 beginning 3/31 

Ages 4-10 - $15 prior to 4/24 or $25 beginning 3/31 

Ages 0-3 - Free with paid adult 

All registrants receive a commemorative short-sleeved t-shirt. Ages 0-3 will not receive a shirt for the 3k Sapling Run. To guarantee your shirt size, you must register by Monday, March 31, 2025.  

Both events have limited entries, so please register early! All registrations are final, non-transferable, and non-refundable. 

The race will occur in the rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme conditions. There will be no refunds in the event of cancellation, and your entry fee will be donated to the Huntsville Botanical Garden to support its mission of connecting people to plants. In the event of cancellation, packets will be available at the Garden. 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 

7:45 a.m. – Begin lining up for the 5k Race 

8:00 a.m. – 5k Race starts 

8:05 a.m. – Begin lining up for the 3k Sapling Run 

8:15 a.m. – 3k Sapling Run starts 

8:30 a.m. – Post-race celebration begins 

9:15 a.m. – Awards presentation 

Our generous sponsors will provide food and drinks for participants at 8:30 a.m. Bring the whole family out to enjoy the fun and cheer you on!
