Great Wall Ultra Trail, Badaling

The Great Wall of China, one of the world's most recognizable landmarks, serves as the spectacular backdrop for an exciting event. The Great Wall Ultra Trail, Badaling, takes place at Badaling, the most popular section of the Great Wall. Along the course, participants are treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, creating an unforgettable experience.The 40km race boasts a total ascent of 2100 meters and starts at Wangjing Square in the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area. The route includes stops at notable attractions such as the Badaling Scenic Area Watch Tower, Badaling Forest Park, and the ancient Great Wall at Badaling. Runners will also pass through Qingshuiding, Shibapan, Zhenziyu, Daheigou, Shi Xiancun, Huajiyao, Bangshuiyu Taishan Temple, and Lipao. Along the way, runners can refuel at four supply points: Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area Chuangwangpoguan, Shibapan, Zhenziyu, and Shixia Village, before finishing at Lipao Village Committee.

The 26km race covers a total ascent of 1500 meters, starting at Wangjing Square and following a similar route as the 40km race. Participants will pass through Badaling Scenic Area Watch Tower, Badaling Forest Park, Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area, Qingshuiding, Shixia Village, Huajiyao, Bangshuiyu Taishan Temple, and Bangshuiyu, with two supply points at Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area Chuangwangpoguan and Shixia Village before finishing at Lipao Village Committee.

For those looking for a shorter challenge, the 6km race offers a total ascent of 400 meters. Starting at Wangjing Square in the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area, runners will pass by Badaling Scenic Area Watch Tower, Badaling Forest Park, and Qinglongqiao New Railway Station before finishing at the entrance of Badaling Forest Park Scenic Area.
