Cavanal Killer 8k

The Poteau Chamber of Commerce will host the 17th annual Cavanal Killer 8k on May 11th.  Our theme for 2024 is "Engage", so we invite you to "Engage the Challenge" of climbing the world's highest hill.  If you are not fimiliar with this event, it's a once way 5 mile trip to the top of the worldest hillest hill (elevation at the top: 1999 ft.).  After finish and enjoying refreshements at the top, participants are shuttled back down to the start. 
This event is designed to promote fitness and inspiring particpants with the great accomplishment of getting to the top, whether it be by walking, jogging, or running.   
Event Details: 
Flat Online Registration Fee: $35 until April 26th (also the shirt deadline), $40 after April 26th
Start Location: Poteau Primary School - 407 Hughes Drive Poteau, OK 74953
Start Time: 9:00 am (Registration/Packet Pickup will open at 8:00 am)
Early Packet Pickup: Packets can be picked up on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th at the Chamber of Commerce office from 9am to 6pm. 501 S Broadway St, Poteau, OK
8k Course (4.97 miles): This event will be run on a USATF certified course.  Click here for the course map
T-shirts: Provided to all particpants who sign up by April 26th will receive a shirt.  First come first serve for late sign ups. 
Awards:  All finishers will receive a finishers medals 
Refreshments: There are several aide stations on the course and fruit, water, and other snacks at the top.   
This event is non-refundable.  You may switch your regestration to someone else, but no refunds will be issued.
