Informazioni sull'evento
Step back in time and tackle the challenging terrain reminiscent of Illinois' pre-paved roads at the second stop of the Big River Gravel Series. This event features the toughest routes yet, testing the mettle of even the most seasoned riders. If your training has been sporadic, the 43-mile Rock distance might suit you better. Embrace the grit with no sag wagon support — consider bringing a companion if you might need assistance. The final 9 miles of both distances pack an 800-foot elevation gain, with one climb you're likely to walk. Mississippi Distance challengers will cover approximately 85 miles with 5,000 feet of elevation, facing daunting farm road sectors that could challenge your progress. Racing against the clock, participants have 7 hours to earn an exclusive completion sticker. Refuel at Casey's after 25 miles, and again at an aid station at mile 61 stocked with essentials.
The Rock Distance offers a 43-mile route with 3,000 feet of elevation in a 6-hour timeframe, minus the farm road sectors — yet still a formidable ride. An aid station awaits at mile 20 for hydration and nutrition.
Both distances end with the reward of Casey's pizza and a beverage. Prepare thoroughly, as routes won't be marked, requiring you to download the maps or print cue sheets. The event proceeds regardless of weather, with no refunds, though registration insurance is available.
In the Series Competition, choose between the Mississippi River (long) or Rock River (short) distances and stick to it for the series. Switching distances resets your points. Competitions are held for overall, age group, and single speed, with podiums for top finishes. Age groups are divided into 19 and under, 20-44, and 45+, and your racing age is set as of November 1st, 2025.
Scoring awards points to the top ten finishers, with a series winner determined by cumulative points across four events. In case of a tie, the best result at the Turkey Burner serves as the tiebreaker. Get ready to spin your legs through history and ascend the ranks in an unforgettable race experience.
