Take Flight 5K Charity Challenge: You Run, your Charity wins!
13 May, 2015 (Wed)
“Most people have a charity that they help support, so this year, in addition to raising money to complete Runway Park at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) in S.C., we have added a new feature to our race: A Charity Challenge!” stated Joe Lanahan, Take Flight 5K Race Director. “People can sign up without being on a charity team, as they always have, this is just a new race feature.” Lanahan added.
Want to take the Charity Challenge? Register a team of 4 runners (at least one must be female) to participate in Take Flight 5k 2015. When folks register for the race they will be asked to pick a charity team. Encourage them to pick yours and $1 dollar from each runner will go to your non-profit group. Also, the team that has the FASTEST combined time for their top 3 runners will earn an additional $250 for their charity and the team that signs up the most participants will earn an additional $250 for their charity. Reserve your team now by emailing [email protected] for a team registration form. Once received this information will be added to the online registration site so each of the team’s runners and all their supporters can select the charity’s team.
“Take Flight 5K will also have some very unique race prizes. The Best Overall Take Flight 5K Male and Female winners will receive a cool airplane gauge mounted to an award base! All kids mile participants will get Take Flight 5K ‘Dog Tags’ and everyone will get an event T-shirt. Other prizes will also be awarded,” noted Lanahan.
CHUCK 97.7, Hot 98.1, 107.3 JAMZ, X98.5, Maserati Lotus Greenville, Touring Sport BMW / Triumph / Ducati, Civil Air Patrol, RoundTowners and Fleet Feet Sports are sponsoring Take Flight 5K 2015 that will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 (Memorial Day weekend) at the Greenville Downtown Airport.
The race will depart from Runway Park which is located next to the Runway Cafe at 21 Airport Road Extension, Greenville, SC 29607. For more information and to register for the event, please visit https://book-events.com/takeflight5k/
