Mezza decisamente sopravalutata

The route was good, the 6km run out and loop back was a good warm up and the run towards Lisbon has 2 moderately steep hills but nothing too challenging, there was many water stations throughout and a great atmosphere. Would recommend as a second or third marathon but not a first because of the heat.

There were some great views from the South across the Atlantic.

I would like to select all of the above. Beautiful, pretty flat route along the ocean, only 7500 marathoners. The Half marathoners do NOT meld into the Marathoners like they use to with RnR. Lisbon is a fabulous city and if you get a chance, go to Porto. Most all Portuguese know English and are extremely friendly to tourists. Pasta dinner was at a real restaurant on the water and excellent. Plenty of portolets at start, fluid stations at least every 3 miles, some with GU, Powerade, bananas. Fantastic volunteers. The finish is flat and fun going under the Gloria Monument into the square. Don’t worry about the few sections with cobblestones-they aren’t long and not very frequent. Coming from Texas, the 60’s temps weren’t bad, and the spray stations were fun. Expo, Dinner, Train station are all far apart from the hotel we stayed in. Taxi or Uber. I had a private driver take me to start, but most runners took train. Highly recommend this Marathon and Portugal, if you have never been.

One could PR at this Marathon. If I can be 67 and cramp at Mile 19 and walk/run the last 7 miles and still come in under 4 hours, you can PR!

This is different for 2018, now it is the "EDP Lisbon Marathon" and it took place on Sunday 14th October starting in Cascais. I did my personal best here without really having that as a goal. The sea view is good for most of the route, and the finish in Lisbon under the Arco da Rua Augusta and then into the Comércio Plaza was a really nice way to end the race. I really like my medal too.

The route was Amazing for the biggest part mostly flat race, the only negative was that you had to take the first train to go to start and you didn’t had time for a warm up,the weather was too hot with a lot of humidity 22°c at 05:00 90% humidity

The 2018 edition was a disaster. The organisation wasn't prepared to the massive rain and cold.

Very pleasant route by the sea. Sadly it is no longer in the R'n'R Marathon series calendar. Music was fantastic though. I highly recommend it. I'd suggest booking B&B in Cascais (starting point) the night before the marathon as the trains from Lisbon get very crowded with all the runners in the morning.
