A new Marathon in Florida: Best Damn Race Orlando

26 Nov, 2013 (Tue)

§staticmap(19030,5,450,250) Hello, on March 1st 2014, you’ll be organizing the Best Damn Race Half Marathon – Orlando. Can you tell us where it is located? Best Damn Race – Orlando is located at beautiful Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando, FL. How old is the race and why was it created in the first place? This will be the year for BDR Orlando. I decided to expand to Orlando after the success of the Safety Harbor race back in February. We had over 3,000 registrations in the inaugural race and expect over 5,000 for the second edition on February 1st in Safety Harbor. Credit : Best Damn Race What kind of route have you set up for the runners? How would you describe it? Our routes are still being finalized with the City, but I can tell you that you get some views of downtown, run around some lakes and parks and a few portions of old brick road. How many runners do you expect on Saturday morning? What type of runners do you plan to attract? We are expecting between 2,500 – 3,500 registrations for the inaugural Orlando race. We will have anyone from an Elite Runner all the way to walkers. Everyone age 12 and up is welcome. Do you organize other races during the Weekend? If so, on what distances? We will feature 3 race distances: Half Marathon, 5K, and 10K. The runners will also be able to register for the “5K + 10K” Challenge. Credit : Best Damn Race At that time of the year, what kind of weather can we expect? March in Florida is beautiful. The average low is about 50-55°F (10-13°C) and the average high is about 73-78°F (22-25°C). Have you planned festivities around the races? We offer a 2-day Health and Fitness Expo that is open from 12pm-7pm on Friday 2/28/14 and 6:30am-12pm on Saturday 3/1/14. We will feature the best DAMN post race party that will include: Free Food, Free Beer, Free Massages, and music! The race finished, what advice would you give a runner who has never been to Orlando before? A good restaurant, a fancy sightseeing? After the race, you need to hang out with the other runners and celebrate. The food and beer is free, so get a massage then start throwing back some Michelob Ultra and stay a while. In a single sentence, what would you tell the readers of ahotu Marathons to make them register for the Best Damn Race Half Marathon – Orlando? Don’t miss the BEST DAMN RACE of your life! Credit : Best Damn Race Interview with Nick Zivolich, CEO of Best Damn Race, LLC. Nick is a runner, triathlete, and marketing professional (graduate of the University of Central Florida) and also the co-owner of No Limit Marketing & Advertising, Inc. Nick’s vision for Best Damn Race is to put runners first and put on the Best Damn Race you’ll ever go to.
