We Love Homewood 5K

WE LOVE HOMEWOOD 5K We look forward to seeing you at the starting line of the We Love Homewood 5k.  This race has supported fine arts in Homewood City Schools since its inception as the Spirit Scamper in 2012.  This year's race will benefit the Homewood High School Band's 2024 trip to Ireland.

AWARDS: Overall Awards:  Top Masters Male/Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall Male/Female.

Age Group Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place males and females in each of the following categories will receive an age group award: 9 and under, 10-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79

Our awards are hand painted ceramic medallions that you won't find at ANY OTHER RACE!
The road course winds through the Edgewood community with entertainment provided by HHS marching band in ensembles. Expect to see neighbors in Edgewood cheering along as you complete our friendly 5K.

Thursday, May 4th- 11am- 6pm Trak Shak Homewood Friday, May 5th- 11am- 6pm Trak Shak Homewood Saturday, May 7th 6:30- 7am. Picnic area at back of Central Park near Manhattan Street.  

3. Packet pick-up and Race day Registration: $40  

4. No dogs allowed on the course, service dogs welcome. Strollers are welcome.

5. In the event of inclement weather, the race is canceled. No Refunds.

6:30-7:00 am                 Registration at the Picnic Pavilion (Manhattan Street) CREDIT CARD ONLY!  NO CASH! PRICE INCREASE!

7:00 am                        Burn Bootcamp Warm up

7:15 am                         National Anthem

7:20 am                         Walk to Starting Line. PLEASE LINE UP ON CENTRAL AVE

7:30am                          Start of We Love HWD 5K. ONE HOUR CUT-OFF

8:30 am                         Streets open after the 5K, Awards Presentation at picnic tables begins asap following finish of 5K.  

8:40 am                         Scoop and Scurry Kids Fun Run (K-5)!  Start and Finish will be the Finish Line of the We Love HWD 5K. 

  KIDS FUN RUN K-5 grade students from Hall Kent, Shades Cahaba and Edgewood will compete to see which school can bring the biggest team to complete the one mile fun run.  T-shirt Deadline: Must Register by midnight April 19th Individual Awards: All finishers will earn a free ice cream scoop at the finish line of the Scoop and Scurry Fun Run. School Awards: ScooperIntendents Award: K-5 grade students from Hall-Kent, Shades Cahaba and Edgewood will compete to see which school can bring the biggest percentage of students to complete the one mile fun run.   Grade Level Award: At the winning school, the grade level with the highest perentage of participants will get an end of the year ice cream celebration. 

 

Awards not collected at the awards ceremony following the 5K, must be picked up at Trak Shak the week following the race.
