Ultra Marathon of the Atlantic

The annual edition of the Atlantic Ultra Marathon, Melides - Troia, offers a unique and exceptional race in Portugal and Europe. The 43 km-long trail starts from the beach of Melides, with the majestic mountain of Arrábida in the background, and passes through the blue-flag beaches of Aberta Nova, Gale, Pinheiro da Cruz, Pego, Carvalhal, Comporta, and Soltroia, finishing at Beco das Lulas beach in Troia. Thousands of holidaymakers accompany the athletes along the route of fine golden sand, classified as a 'quality gold' beach. In addition, a 15 km-long 'Course of the Atlantic' is available, beginning at Comporta beach, and also ending at Troia Beach. The event provides a test of physical and psychological endurance that is unparalleled.
