Turkey Stampede 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk, & 1 Mile Walk

We are so excited to host our 16th race!

A family event for a family day!  Thanksgiving is such a wonderful family time!  And a time of gratitude for all we have!

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 @ 8:30 am at the Elkhart Health & Aquatics Center, 200 East Jackson, Elkhart IN.

PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 8:00AM

10K starts first at 8:30am, 5K at 8:35am, and the Mile Walk at 8: 38am following as soon as the 5K people are through the gates.

Pricing includes timed race entry fee for 10K and 5K, (The Mile walk is untimed), finisher medals for all who want them, and post race refreshments.  Custom shirts are optional and an additional $15.

There are hundreds of people (men, women and children) who rely on the Faith Mission homeless shelter for accommodations, clothing, training and food. And this race is the biggest fundraiser for the Mission! Please know that your participation makes a huge difference!

Come join us in the morning for some fresh air and movement, before your family festivities!  This is NOT intended to take up your entire morning- just come out- be with the community -  move a bit, work up an appetite and then get back to your plans! And remember to look out for those folks who might not have a place to go on Thanksgiving- and invite them to participate with you!  

ATTN GROUPS:  If you have a group of people (3 or more) you can register everyone all at once. Create a group name. One person can come to packet pickup and get the package of bibs/shirts/ etc. Please register by Friday, November 22 so that we have time to put the group bundles together.

PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 8:00AM

VIRTUAL option available.  Maybe you will be out of town and still want to support the mission. We will mail your bib, finisher medal and shirt, so when you sign up be sure to put the shipping address! No need to come to packet pickup. Items will be mailed on Monday prior to Thanksgiving Day.

Registration and Packet Pickup- Online registration goes through to the race start!

Prefer to pay in cash, you may do this onsite as well - go to the cash line.

The shirt order goes in on November 11. We will have a few extra 2023 shirts for sale on a first come, first serve basis for $15.  In addition, we have shirts from 2022 race for $5. Cash for the shirts, please.

8:27 am     10K lines up in starting chute area on Jackson

8:30 am      10K only Starts - the Monster Message countdown will be our start!

8:35 am      5K Turkey Rabbit is released with a 45 second head start

8:36 am     5K Runners first followed by walkers [5K will have a countdown start on the Monster Message machine

8:38 am     Mile Walk lead by Gobbles and Holly

There is no official awards ceremony, because we know people want to leave and get back to their day asap.  Everyone will get a finisher medal. [And if you didn't get one last year, we have hundreds left, so you can complete your collection.]. We do offer the coveted turkey awards for the top three overall men and women that finish the 5K and 10K. Come to the wagon up by the timing trailer by the start finish line, and we will take care of you!

Results will be on the Monster Message Jumbotron and posted online at EpicRaceTiming.com and Stone Soup Promotions.   We are continuing the tradition of the coveted gravy boat awards to the top 3 MF in both the 5K and 10K in addition to gift cards  and free entries into 2024 race. Additionally, we offer $25 cash to the first male and female to Catch the Turkey! (Not a real turkey, we have a human dressed up as a turkey--honor system here.)

Parking will be in the adjacent lots around Beacon Health & Aquatics. There is a huge lot by the Hacienda, Civic Plaza, Innova Credit Union , NIBCO water and ice park, and other small businesses close to the race start

The Start and Finish of the race will be in front of the new parking lot on Jackson @ Clark Street.

What's New in 2024?

* Streamlined registration process; If you sign up as a group, you can still pick up at Group Registration. Everyone else will be assigned a number when they arrive, so there is no waiting. 

* Online registration will stay open until 8:00 am on Thanksgiving Day.

Any extra shirts will be sold on a first come first serve basis to those who did not PRE-REGISTER.  $15 for 2023 and $5 for 2023 shirts.

On RACE DAY- Cash/ check only for shirts. Make checks payable to Faith Mission of Elkhart
