The Nieuwpoort Swim

The Nieuwpoort Swim is one of the only open water swimming competitions in Belgium. The start is at the Old Fish Market and you swim towards the entrance of the largest marina in Northern Europe. As the start of the Long Course Weekend you swim against an international field of participants over 3,8km. Despite the sea water you swim in calm water because of the protection against the current of the channel and the spectators can also walk along the entire course. In the shadow of the West Front monument and with the finish on the Long Course Weekend festival grounds, this will undoubtedly be a race to remember.
