The Start, Course and Finish

9:45 am - 50 mi start w/ aid stations at miles 23.4 & 41.3
10:45 am - 25 mi start w/aid station at mile 8.1
The start for the riders in each category will begin in downtown Kimball and will have a protected neutral start and will be led to the official start line. Please download the maps & turn-by-turn directions available found below with following options from MapMyRide, Strava or Garmin.
The course will be mostly on dirt and gravel roads in Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming. There are a few sections of pavement mainly at the beginning and end for all course lengths, but also about at the mid-point in Wyoming for the 100-mile course. Except for the start and finish areas, the course will be open to vehicle traffic which may include passenger cars, trucks, semis, agriculture equipment, and even riders on horseback. As you ascend hills in the country, be wary that unseen oncoming traffic may be approaching from the opposite side of the hill. With that in mind, please do not ride in the center or left side of the road as you ascend the climb/hill. Also, goat head weed season is alive and well in the area - this means avoid riding in the right edge of the dirt roads at all costs.... this is where you will find the most intact goat head thorns on the road. Lastly, if cattle, sheep, antelope, buffalo or rattlesnakes are encountered on course, please be aware, exude caution, no screaming/yelling and be sensible by giving right-of-way and plenty of distance. If you feel unsafe or unsure to pass, you are encouraged to wait for a rider or riders behind and pass together in a group or call 303-902-9603 for help.
Fresh tire sealant is highly recommended this year for the Antelope Stampede. Goat head thorn plants have had a healthy growth period in some sections of the courses this year.
Aid and feed stations on the course will be identified and updated on the ride maps below, as well as, maps provided in the packet. The aid stations will likely offer a mix of water, hydration mix, assorted fruit, and fig bars. Trash cans will be available for all events at each aid station.

Weather permitting, a post-race BBQ and festivities will begin at 12:00 pm and lead up to the award ceremony at 2:00 pm where we will celebrate the top 3 finishers in each ride event.
