City of Westlake Community Run

SECOND ANNUAL WESTLAKE COMMUNITY RUN 

The City of Westlake Community Run is a special event for the whole family being hosted by the Recreation Department and held in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Wellness Day.  Come out and enjoy a run or walk through the beautiful City of Westlake and then stay for the Fair! Race begins and ends on the Recreation Center Campus.  There will be a timed 5K Run and Speed Walking Division along with an untimed 1-Mile Walk beginning at 8:30am.  There will be post-race refreshments, snacks and an awards ceremony.  Race shirt will be provided for anyone registering by 9/2/24.  Event goodies bags guaranteed for the first 200 registered.  This event will also include an Inflatable and DJ.  Stay for the Safety & Wellness Fair starting at 10:00am at the Westlake Recreation Center!  The fair is hosted by University Hospitals and the City of Westlake.  Additional information regarding the fair will be available online soon at www.cityofwestlake.org/recreation.

5K Run/Walk, Speed Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk- 8:30am

***Speed walking differs from running in that it requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body.

All mailed entries must be received by Monday, September 2, 2024. Event T-shirt not guaranteed for those received after 9/2/24.

Participants Receive

Awards
All pre-registered 5K participants 10 & under will receive participation medals.  

Top overall male & female as well as 5K racers finishing in the top three in each age group.

Age groups (male & female): 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. 

Speed Walk - Top 3 men and top 3 women overall.  No age groups.
