Race for P.E.A.C.E. 5K / 1 Mile Walk

About This Event
The Race for P.E.A.C.E. 5K/1 Mile Walk will take place on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 8am. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Martin Richard Foundation.

Martin Richard was an 8 year old boy killed in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. A picture of Martin holding a handmade sign that reads, "No more hurting people. Peace" went global shortly after the bombings. Martin was viewed as a symbol of peace by many.

The Richard family established the Martin Richard Foundation to honor Martin's message of peace and provides opportunities for individuals and communities to act on the values of peace and kindness.

About Bare Cove Park
Bare Cove Park consists of 484 acres located along the banks of the Weymouth Back River in the town of Hingham, MA. Set aside as a wildlife sanctuary and a place for public recreation, the park is an exceptional area of river shoreline, wetland, open fields, dense woods, and diverse animal and plant life.

Course
The Race for P.E.A.C.E. 5K course takes you on a scenic tour of beautiful Bare Cove Park. The course is relatively flat at the beginning and there are some moderate hills towards the middle of the course. There will be 1 water station on the course. All participants will be timed and will have access to their results after the event.

The Race for P.E.A.C.E. 1 Mile Walk follows the Back River Path. Walkers will have a scenic view of Beals Cove and the Weymouth Back River. The walk is un-timed and we encourage family participation!

Register before March 15, 2023 in order to guarantee yourself an AWESOME Race for P.E.A.C.E. long sleeve t-shirt!

Children 12 and younger will NOT receive a t-shirt but will receive alternate gear!

Bib/Swag Bag Pick Up
The bib pick up will be at Marathon Sports in Norwell (134 Washington Street, Norwell) between 11-3PM on Saturday, 4/1.  

Race day bib pick up and race day registration will be available at Bare Cove Park beginning at 7:00AM! But please arrive early!

Directions/Parking
Bare Cove Park is located at the end of Bare Cove Park Drive in Hingham, MA. If your GPS does not have Bare Cove Park Drive, the best address for the Park entrance is 19 Fort Hill Street, Hingham, MA. Turn onto Bare Cove Park Drive and continue straight until you reach the entrance of Bare Cove Park.

There is plenty of parking at the Fort Hill Street entrance of Bare Cove Park.
