Back by popular demand! Come out and enjoy the blazing fall colors at the fifth annual BRANDYWINE VALLEY ROUBAIX FALL FOLIAGE Gravel Grinder.
Strava Route FilesRide With GPS Route Files
This Gravel Grinder / Gran Fondo / Group Ride will take riders through the scenic country-side and rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley, some of the most unspoiled and historic countryside of the Mid-Atlantic. These paved and gravel roads are even more beautiful in the fall with trees ablaze with fall foliage! After an amazingly successful first 5 years, the BVR Fall Foliage is back again for 2024. With cool fall weather and beautiful fall scenery this ride offers the perfect opportunity for one more autumn ride to wind down the 2024 cycling season. This ride is 53 miles with over 60%+ consisting of gravel / mixed surface roads including several newly added gravel sections just for the special BVR Fall Foliage event. For the BVRFF addition we will be doubling up certain sections of gravel and this will give portions of the course a whole new feel!!! The course is suited for gravel, cyclocross, mtn, and road bikes (min 28 mm tires). Please note, for the BVRFF there will not be an official road bypass option and the Hill Top and Donut Hill climbs are not featured. However, there will be "world famous" apple cider donuts at the rest stop...the perfect mid ride snack!
This will not be a mass start evert, but rather a staggered start to avoid large crowds of riders. Start with your group anytime between 9 and 10 AM. Registration table will be open at 8:30 to answer question and for shirt pick-up. If you want to get an earlier start, go for it!
Please support our generous sponsors: Piscitello Law, The Whip Tavern, Holly Gross Group, The Fence Authority, without them, our event is not possible.
A fantastic rest stop at mile 25 at the The Whip Tavern (thank you KC and team at The Whip!).Event pricing: $40.00, online registration only. Limited availability day-of registration $45 cash only.
As with all previous WCCX events a portion of the proceeds will benefit two local charities. Quest Therapeutics (www.questtherapeutic.com) is an equestrian facility utilizing horse riding to provide therapy for children with physical and developmental challenges. Our second charity is the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Mountain Bike Association (www.pamtb.org), a grass-roots organization developing high and middle school mountain bike programs in our immediate area.
The BVR Fall Foliage is a self supported ride and all riders are responsible for their own mechanical support. A feed stop and facilities will be located at approximately mile marker 25, at the historic Whip Tavern (thewhiptavern.com).
Hope you can make it out and please spread the word.
