SoCal's Tiki Beach 5K & 10K

Welcome to the Annual Tiki Beach 5K/10K. YOUR Polynesian-themed end-of-summer RUN.  Been doing this race since 2014!

This great beach location is just west of Huntington City Beach and Dog Beach In Huntingtin Beach.  East of Sunset Beach. 

TIKI BEACH 5k/10K. is YOUR LIVELY race with LIVE Polynesian Drummers and Dancers!  It's your end of the summer BEACH PARTY RUN!

Coconuts, palm trees, grass skirts, and the TAPUA PRODUCTION drummers and dancers make this the BEST BEACH BASH, healthy RUNNER's Party! ' Every participant gets a Hawaiian-style race shirt and the BEST EVER CUSTOM CAST FINISHER MEDAL! It's a TIKI! 

CAREN WARE EVENTS are RFID CHIP Timed by ITZ ABOUT TIME and the ' coolest' age division awards and overall finisher trophies.

 5-year age spans for both 5k & 10K.  Top three overall male and female in both races.  

REFRESHMENTS: Pancakes, specialty coffee, and street tacos are served from 7:15 am to 10 am.  Bring a little $. Enjoy the expo area and great selfie moments. COURSE:  Flat and fast, or slow and easy.  Make it the pace you want it.  The 5K/10K routes are both out and back courses on the paved beach path.  Listen to the waves with a beachside view. Stage at the start in corals suited for your pace.  Your course start time does not start until you enter under the arch.  Make sure you have the correct bib for the distance you are running.  Wear that bib pinned TO THE FRONT.  EVERY PARTICIPANT RECEIVES: Custom Cast Finishers Medal (great addition to your collection!)Tiki Beach custom shirtChip timed and a custom race bibWater and fruit at the finish lineChance for Age division awards and overall Trophies

1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80&over

YOU get a summer series medal if you ran more than TWO summer races.   Cinco De Miles,  SO Cal Pirate's Run, 4th of July Red, White, & Blue, and the TIKI BEACH 5k/10K are the summer race options.  Pick this up at the Caren Ware Events booth at after completing the race. 

EARLY RACE PACKET PICK UP at Costa Mesa's Road Runner Sports from noon to 3 pm

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:  

6:30 am Vendors arrive and set up.
              Volunteers arrive and check-in
7 am-8:30 Registration OPEN
                Shirts and bibs are available for pick up on race day 
6:30 am to 10 am   Polynesian Party Expo open for participants

8:15 kid's dash and 1 mile

8:30 am Mass Start for 10K and 5K.

9:10 am BEGINS 5k  AWARDS CEREMONY 

9:40 BEGINS 10K  AWARDS CEREMONY

PARKING: EVENT in LOT 25 of Bolsa Chica State Beach. (Closest to the corner of Warner and PCH)  State Park charges $15 per car.  You must enter at the main gate on PCH.  Public parking is available behind the Jack in the Box in Sunset Beach.  You will have to walk from there into the State Park via the sidewalk. RESTROOMS are open and located on each end of lot 25. 

The race will take place rain or sunny!

LET'S DEDICATE THIS YEAR's RACE to feel all that was lost in the fires on Maui.  We have a history of timing the FRONT STREET MILE in Lahaina. And have timed for many years, the MAUI MARATHON.   We have close ties with the runners on that island, fitness gyms, coaches, and Islanders, having timed Valley to the Sea and other remote half marathons. May we feel and preserve all that Hawaiian culture and its beautiful islands offer us?  We will take proceeds from this race and help running clubs on the island of MAUI be encouraged to BUILD BACK.
