Run for Rod

We are looking forward to the 9th annual Run for Rod, featuring both a 5k road race and 1 mile fun-run/walk around the track.  Please join us to commemorate Mr. Rodney Williams and his dedicated service to his community.  Mr. Williams was a beloved and devoted counselor at Glenelg High School for 17 years, and he touched the lives of a countless number of students and staff members. He passed away on June 20th, 2014 as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident. 

Please note the following:

All proceeds will go to scholarships in Mr. Williams' name and will be awarded to graduating GHS seniors.

If you wish to only donate to the scholarship fund and not participate in race day activities, please make a check out to Lynn Williams.

Event details and schedule:

Participants of all ages will run along Burntwoods Road then into the neighborhoods across from Glenelg High School. There is a 5k route and 1-mile track walk / fun-run available. All 5k racers start and finish at Glenelg.  ** 1-mile participants ages 7 and under are free! **

Check in will be open at 7:30am and the race begins at 8:30am

Ample parking available at the school.
