О событии
The Resolution Run tradition is more than just a race; it's a celebration of progress, achievements, and the possibilities of the coming year. We're thrilled to have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as our title sponsors again this year.
Last year's 42nd Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run saw over 700 participants completing the 4.0-mile journey around Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, MI. Taking place on New Year's Eve, the race starts near EGR Middle School and finishes in front of John Collins Park.
The history of this event dates back to 1982 when the late Joe O’Brien, co-founder of Genesis Sports and owner of Classic Race Management, initiated the Reeds Lake Triathlon and the annual New Year's Resolution Run. Joe's dedication to the running community and coaching at East Grand Rapids High School left a lasting impact.
In 2023, the event continued under new direction, honoring Joe's memory during the 41st Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run. The focus shifted to supporting the Grand Rapids Public Schools Foundation in raising funds for pool maintenance and repairs.
The improvements made in 2023, including die-cast medals, Disco Ball secondary medals, and involvement of Gaslight Businesses for packet pickup and a post-race party, elevated the participant experience. Details for the upcoming event will be announced, with registration opening on October 21, 2024. Here's to another year of making memories, resolutions, and celebrating the spirit of the Resolution Run tradition!
