Credit : MarathonTOULOUSE Europe’s capital of aeronautics hosted the 10th edition of its annual marathon this weekend. This edition had a few improvements. The route for the marathon was a brand new one. And the participants could also choose between a half marathon and 10km race. Marathon Mathew sang KIBIWOT took top spot in 02:13:55, followed by Barnabas KIPYEGO who finished with a time of 02:16:39. Karim KWEMOI got the third place in 02:17:13. For the women, Bentu shiferaw WODAJO claimed victory with a time of 02:43:19 . Claire-helene CAMELOT earned runner-up honors with a time of 02:54:25. Rounding out the top three was Anne-sophie LESCOP-MAYEUR with a time of 02:54:43. Top 5 Men Top 5 Women Complete results Semi-marathon Renaud BELLEC grinded past more than 1557 runners to win in 01:16:26. He bested Romain GARREAU who crossed the finish line one minute 27 seconds behind him. Rounding out the top three was Sebastien AUBOURG with a time of 01:18:26. In the women’s race, Houria FRECHOU got a win, finishing with a time of 01:24:29 . She finished 6 minutes 29 seconds ahead of Isabelle PRIEUR-GROS. Rounding out the top three was Margot PELANNE with a time of 01:34:57. Top 5 Men Top 5 Women Complete results 10 km Teddy FUALDES outpaced more then 1407 runners to win in 00:32:31. Coming in second was Aurelien JEAN (00:33:05). The third place went to Florent MAGOT with a time of 00:33:17 In the women’s race, Mylene BACON took top honors by finishing the race in 00:36:07 . Sardana Trofimova had to push hard during the race to cross the finish line in a record time of 02:28:18. That’s nearly 9 minutes faster than the previous record set by Alice Serser (2:37:06) in 2011. With this stunning time, she manages to finish at the 6th place overall! Gladys Kipsoi takes the second place in 02:33:00 and Hirut Beyene Guangul the third in 02:38:13. In the men’s race Raymond Kemboi managed to pull away from the leaders group at the half marathon and finished the race solo. He wins the marathon in 2:10:59, missing the course record for a few seconds. The second place went to Tegegne Abraraw Misganaw who finished 4 minutes later (02:14:49). Kévin Limoh Kipkemoi is third in 02:17:42. 2,777 runners crossed the finish line. This is less than the 3,484 finishers of last year.
