About the event

Discover the beauty of Vietnam's exotic beach town of Da Nang - a paradise with pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear blue water, and a host of water activities to enjoy. You'll be enchanted by the idyllic beach with its smooth sand and gentle slope, as noted by US Forbes Magazine, which listed Da Nang as one of the 6 most beautiful beaches in the world. Its green environment, less pollution, and traffic restrictions give Da Nang a higher urbanization ratio than any of Vietnam's other provinces, making it the most worth-living city in the country.
Run through Da Nang's breathtaking coastline, surrounded by mountains, as well as the poetic Han's River in the middle of the city during the sunrise. Expand your globetrotting journey and let the sights and sounds of the city fill you with energy as you strive towards one of your life's running milestones.

The route was amazing, along the river then sea. It's a bit hot, but water stations are close. It was well organized. Everything was in row. Runners just go and run and enjoy it. I registered to back to DNIM this year.

It is a bit boring since the route of FM is twice of HM.

I joined the 2018 Marathon here. I'm from Danang but I've never noticed that my city is that beautiful. It gives me another way of looking at Danang. The race is also really well-organized. I've made many new friends. Lots of hi-fi, lots of hugs. I will definately join again this year. So excited! Danang is amazing!

The distance is really suitable for a new runner slike me. I've learned a lot from it.

This marathon was held in superb location across the beautiful city of Danang. Start from the beach side, across half of the city going through 2 main bridges. The morning sun rise view in the city beside the beach and river sides were amazing. The only drawback was the temperature was too warm before 7am. We started at 4:40am, it could be better if the full marathon starts at 2:00am, half marathon starts at 3:30am & 10km at 4:30. It's just my suggestion.

With half marathon, we had full round across the city from the beach going through 2 briges. Full marathon needs to run the 2nd repeat round which is quite boring. 10km was only cover the beach side, miss out a lot of nice scenery.

Amazing run, you start around 0430 before the sun comes up, and as you run passed the mountains you will see the sun rising.

If your from a cold Country like myself it’s good to come a week before to get some short runs in and get used to running in the heat

A beautiful race in one of the most beautiful cities in Da Nang. Starting with the sun slowly rising over the beach front, continuing with a stunning city view as the sun moves higher in the sky and finally finishing again right on the beach. The course outline is one of the best and is promising in order to achieve a great running time. Despite the beauty of this race a lot can be improved regarding the organisation side. Instead of focusing so much on all the pre-race shenanigans, I believe the organisers should be more concerned with the runners' race experience. The two race t-shirts in the package was great, but more samples could be included of that which is being advertised. Vouchers that are only valid on the day of the race is pointless as many won't have the opportunity to use it. Rather extend it to a week. Water points and toilet facilities need a lot of attention. Providing only two portable toilets per station isn't enough for the 7 000 runners that are boasted about. Proving water bottles at the water points aren't practical. Please learn from other marathon organisers and pioneer the use of water sachets at the marathons. Most runners are only able to take 2-3 sips from the bottle and will then discard the rest of the water. It's waste both in the sense of water and plastic. Make this change!! Please provide more food as well, there are a lot more fueling options other than bananas, e.g. boiled potatoes, gummies, rice cakes etc. The runners are paying a lot to attend these events, make it worth it! Get more sponsors involved to keep on improving on this event. It has amazing potential. The time of year the run is held or the starting time should perhaps also be reconsidered. Most runners suffered greatly under the heat and humidity of Da Nang city. Well done on the photographers and the volunteers cheering the runners on.
