About the event

Experience the thrill of a lifetimes at the Beppu-Ōita Marathon, an annual men’s marathon race between the cities of Beppu and Ōita in Japan. The looped course starts at the bottom of the Takasaki Mountain and ends up at the Ōita Municipal Athletic Stadium. The race has been granted an IAAF Silver Label Road Race status and is sponsored by the Mainichi Newspapers Co. An estimated 500 runners, mostly Japanese or Japanese-based, compete along with a few international athletes invited each year. Additionally, foreign athletes may participate as pace setters. Formerly, the Beppu-Oita Mainichi Half Marathon was held in conjunction with the main race. Join this adrenaline-filled journey and make unforgettable memories.

Hicham Laqouahi outran roughly 2894 runners to win with a time of 02:08:35. He finished 29 secondes ahead of Abdela Godana. Finishing third was Yihunilign Adane (02:09:11). In the women’s race, Yamaguchi Haruka finished first in 02:36:51 , ahead of Fujisawa Mai (02:47:31). Marathon results Melaku Abera (2:09:27) finished ahead of more than 2,800 runners to win the Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon in south Japan. Anthony Maritim secured second with a time of 2:11:17. Shume Hailu (2:11:41) managed to hold off Ishida Kazuya (2:12:25) for third.
