RVA Underground Race #1 - MARCH MUDMESS

It's MARCH MUDMESS at Montvale Park! 
This is a great race to kickoff the RVA Underground Spring Race Series!

PLEASE NOTE: You must be registered for the series to be eligible for series points and standings. Series registration is done on BikeReg: https://www.bikereg.com/2024-ug-series

Anyone can participate in any of the RVA Underground Spring MTB Race Series races. Series Registration is not required to participate in any of the individual races but is required if you want to compete in the series.

The Race

This event will be professionally timed by Mountain Junkies LLC and is directly after their Montvale 5/8.4 Trail Run so the trails are gonna be prime! The Course

 Beginners do 1 lap (~7 miles), Sport 2 laps (~12 miles), and Experts 3 laps (~18 Miles). The trails are super fun, full of twists, turns, tech, rocks and roots galore! Did we mention mud? You will cross the creek 2X, a short section less than a mile in and one longer crossing at the end to finish! There will be timing mats across the creek so if you are doing multiple laps and you will stay on that side until you head back to the finish. 

Check In: 10:30am - 11:45am

Pre-Race Announcements 11:45am - Must be Present

Race Start:  12pm Staggered Start

Expert, then Sport, then Beginners. 

Kids Race - Around 2pm, once the adults have finished 

Bring the whole family! We will have FREE Strider races kids 2-6, playground, music, food, and fun!

Run a quick-hit early race series that is “won and done” in 3-4 weeks.

Courses that are short, challenging, and feel like UCI XCO format races.

Early season training series to gauge your winter training and make tweaks before Commonweath MTB Cup, State Champs, and UCI Nationals come on-line.

Give our junior races a chance to ramp-up before VAHS series kicks off!

Pick your poison - USAC and non-USAC Categories!

Earn that Champs’ Jersey - must race AT LEAST 2 events to qualify for Champion Status and claim that Jersey!

 issued up to 10 days prior to the event, vouchers for the following year's event will be given after 10 days. Riders can adjust distances or edit entries online however no changes can be made less than 72 hours out.
