It was such an unforgettable experience! The route is magical along the temples. The organisation was good, there was water as advertised every 2 kilometres and also iso and some fruits half way. However, I'd recommend to bring your own gels and/or protein bars throughout the race as the fruits and some iso is not enough for the whole route. I loved the vibe of the race and I recommend it 100%!

Scenic route but unfortunately very bad organized: - The first part of the route right after flag-off was pitch-black. Once we approached the first main road, we had to navigate carefully among tuks-tuks and tour buses as the road wasn't closed nor were race marshals around for traffic management - After 30km, various water stations were abandoned, leaving just a few bottles in the containers behind. They also ran out of fruits early on. - At the finish line: only watermelons, bananas and dragon fruits were given to runners, no other types of snacks, eg warm and/or savory snacks. Tuk-tuk drivers were all around finish line area and music stage; why wasn't it strictly off-limits to non-runners? - For a marathon, there were barely any photographers along the course. - After the race: no race pics were posted on website or FB or elsewhere. Runners had to send an email requesting for their photos. I got a response after a week saying they couldn't fine mine. - Medal: nice design but size and material could be improved. Overall and for the price of almost 70$, the value was rather poor. The good stuff: - Bib pick-up was quick and well managed - Drop-bag was handled really great, better and faster than other races - Traffic for the most part was managed well, especially around town - The route itself is obviously pretty scenic, especially from km18 onward.

4/8/19 : The route itself was good but the marathon was really poorly organised and I would not participate again. My biggest gripe is that the road was not closed - this was particularly bad for marathon participants who had to contend with trucks, tuk tuks of tourists and motorbikes on the "course". I got forced off the road into the dust by a large truck on the road and caught between tuk tuks who were both trying to overtake other runners around me. In addition to breathing lungfuls of petrol vapour, this made for a really horrible experience. Furthermore, at the start of the race, the road into the city was not lit - runners were bumping into each other as they couldn't see where they were going and my friend twisted his ankle in a pot hole which wasn't visible because it was so dark. The second half of the marathon was the same route more or less as the half marathon. By the time the more middle-of-the-pack runners reached the 30KM mark, the aid stations had all run out of bananas. (The last bananas I saw were around 24KM). Also there was no isotonic sports drink at any of the aid station - only a carbonated energy drink - and this also had run out at the later aid stations. The medical stations also ran out of numbing spray and by the time I got to the final medical tent, they'd already packed up and left. There are other complaints like the race tee being of poor quality and the lighting around the toilets at the start line being non-existent (I saw people fall over a lot) but these are minor in comparison. If you're going to charge people to run the course and you're applying the time limit, then at least part of the road should be closed for the runners. Expecting people to run among the traffic is just dangerous.

My first ever 10km marathon. Amazing experience and to run around the temples in Cambodia was really special. Great experience 10/10.

Early start in the morning at 05:40am so it wasn’t as hot.

great marathon in a wonderful environment, refreshment stations every 2 km, when connecting to the half-marathon route, only water, morning rain and storm, then heat and humidity, amazing place, great atmosphere.

marathon is the best, but half is enough to see the route

Outstanding scenery! It has been a great experience in this unique environment. The marathon in 2024 had less than 400 participants. The weather was not too bad, or at least much cooler than expected. I enjoyed the first 25 km under light rain and the remaining under the not-too-strong sun. The start at 4:30 a.m. helped. The path was completely flat, and the road was in excellent condition. There is room for improvement: the road was not close to traffic. There were a lot of police patrolling around, but there were still plenty of tuk-tuks and occasionally cars and tracks close to you. With such an early start, you run for 1 hour in complete darkness, and the road is not well-lighted, especially in the first 5-6km, and there is the risk of getting lost, especially in a not crowded event. In any case, these are details: you forget everything else when you are running in middle of this unique scenery!!

Amazing location, incredible run in the middle of the Temples. Very grateful participate in a Run for a Charity in Siem Reap.

Quite difficult the 42K distance for the heat and the humidity, however running in the middle of the temples is a unforgettable experience.

The route was great and the organization was good. The only part that has to be worked on is the road closures. When I was on my way to the organization it surprised me to see marathon runners having to negotiate their way amongst road traffic.

The organization was good, the amount of water stations were good, again there was a little bit of traffic from motorbikes and tuk tuks that was a little dangerous for the runners.
