RIDE-TO-REMEMBER XII - Springfield to Hartford Loop - Riding for the Fallen Heroes

This is the 12th Annual Ride-to-Remember!!! It has become one of the best group charity rides in New England. This bicycle ride was started to honor Springfield, MA Police Officer Kevin Ambrose who was killed in the line-of-duty saving a young mom and her daughter at a domestic call. Over the years the Ride-to-Remember has grown to represent ALL Fallen Police Officers, Firefighters and Correction Officers. This year we arte dedicating the R2R to Fallen Hartford, CT Police Officer Bobby Garten. The one year anniversary of his “end-of-watch” for Officer Garten is 09/06/2024. We will have a ceremony to honor him at the Hartford rest stop.

The first nine years of the ride we would pedal from Springfield to Boston and honor the fallen at the Massachusetts State House where the Police and Fire Fallen Memorials are located. The past few years the Ride-to-Remember has kept it local and riding amazing routes through picturesque Western Massachusetts. It's the same riding experience where all riders are escorted by over 20 police officers on motorcycles and police cars the entire way. Once you clip-in, you do not clip-out until you arrive at the rest stops. Speaking of “rest-stops”. They are the best!!! You are treated like royalty by over 100 volunteers. We feed you, hydrate you, fix your bike, fix a flat tire and even provide you with a masseuse to help you with all your aches and pains.

The Ride-to-Remember XII that will take place on 09/07/24 will be simply amazing! We are going back to our roots!! The ride will begin again at Main & Boland Way in the metro-section of downtown Springfield. The rider pre-registration will be Friday, 09/06/24 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the White Lion Brewery right at Main and Boland Way. The after-party will be inside the Downtown Springfield Marriott's Food Court. There will be a catered dinner, beer from two amazing breweries, a concert by “General Gist” and post ride showers and locker room at the downtown YMCA which is right in the Marriott building!! We will encourage riders from everywhere to make this a weekend event. There will be rooms available to riders and supporters at the Springfield Downtown Marriott at a R2R discount. Stay Friday night before the ride, the start will be right outside your hotel room door. Then stay Saturday night after the ride so you can enjoy the after-party without the worry of driving.

The ride itself is 70 miles long. The entire peleton of 500 riders will stay together while we are escorted on a well tpought out route that will bring you through Springfield, Longmeadow, Enfield, CT, Thompsonville, CT. Hartford CT, West Hartford, Suffield, CT. , Agawam, MA, West Springfield, MA and back to Springfield. The ride is fully supported with bike mechanics. We have Peter Pan busses following us the entire way in case you need a breather. We will pack your bike while you rehydrate and when your feeling like you can continue, we have it waiting for you.
