Red, White, & Blue 5 K Run + Fun Run

So Cal’s 4th of July RED, WHITE, & BLUE 5k , July 4, 2024

 held  at IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE

5500 Irvine Center Dr.,  Irvine, Ca. 92618   LOT 5 (Entrance off of Jeffrey.)  

RACE COURSE:  A  FLAT AND fast out and back. Totally on the campus of IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE!   MASS START 8 am.                                  Professional National Anthem singer will start the race and a live FIFE and Drums will entertain you and be available for great Selfie Moments. (ask them about their running times!  They happen to be cross-country runners under those uniforms and talent at our historical representation of the use of fife and drums! ) FOR YOU...bring us your best FREEDOM vibe and come ready to race, run, jog, or walk this healthy way to kick off the 4th of July.   

SHIRTs and BIBs can be picked up on RACE MORNING at IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE beginning at 6:45 am.  Parking lot 5. Patriotic music and great selfie booth station will also be located there.  As well as a fun awards ceremony set up. You may pick up for others.  No ID is required.

Time: noon to 3 pm Date: Sunday, June 30th, You can pick up for others. No ID is required. You may also pick up race morning at the race site.

ITZ ABOUT TIME will be CHIP TIMING your race. 

Race Day Schedule

6:45 am to 7:45 am. - Race Day Registration

7:00 am-7:45 am FIFES n DRUMS Marching and Professional Broadway voice singing heritage songs

8:15 am to 8:30 am Freedom Celebration Opening Ceremony and a Born in the USA sing a long and warm up
8:30 AM MASS START - The race starts right after the signing of the NATIONAL ANTHEM.  
8:00 Diaper Dash  Run 50 yards out and 50 yards back
8:05 AM.  1 Mile Start ( can run with your kids, or if doing the COMBO..." going the extra mile" Change bibs.)  RUN to 1/2 mile turn sign
9:15 am  Overall WINNERS announced. 
9:30  Beginning of ALL age divisions awards announced. 

SELFIE BOOTH/ LIVE MUSIC/ and 4th of JULY fun will be happening at the BIB/Shirt distribution area.  Which is also the awards area. 

If you are RUNNING both the 5k and the 1 mile...make sure you stash one bib way away from the start mats.  USE only one bib at a time.  If you are running with your kids to the 1/2 mile turn around and back for the FUN RUN...make sure you have the FUN RUN bibs on and leave your 5K BIB at the first aid, finish water station tent.  

We have the BEST BLING EVER.   We have ample sizes in shirts. 

Welcome to this year's version of the Annual RED, WHITE, & BLUE or BREW 4th of July 5k/ 1 Mile RUN.  

Every participant receives an American Flag style race shirt and the BEST EVER CUSTOM CAST FINISHER MEDAL!  It's huge. 4 dangling inches!  Every participant gets timed and has a chance to win in 5-year age span categories all the way to 85 and over!!!

CAREN WARE EVENTS are RFID CHIP Timed by ITZ ABOUT TIME and have very cool age division awards and overall finisher trophies. (5 year age spans)   Corral your friends and family! We are passionate about offering  FUN ACTIVITY, Competition, and  SOMETHING for Everybody and every BODY!

4th of July designed front and back custom shirt
A Chip time and a custom race bib
Water and fruit at the finish line.  Strawberry shortcakes served!

Awards: 

Top Three Male/Female Awards. There are “In It To Win It” age categories 3 deep with 5-year age spans:  5k and 10K
1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 &over

Strollers: Families can bring strollers, but agree to use them at their own risk.  Stay to your right.  Note, that only registered participants with a BIB will receive a finisher medal. Please make sure your BIB is in the front and visible to the finish line crew. 

The race will take place rainy or totally sunny!   Celebrate FREEDOM and our great nation! Happy 4th of July.  

PARKING:  IVC REQUIRES a $5 parking fee per vehicle.  Purchase one at registration and place on the driver's side of the dash.  Or pre-purchase as an add-on. Campus officers count and check every parked car.  

Entrance is only allowed on Jeffrey (Entrance closed on Irvine Center Drive- it is part of the course).  All other campus entrances will be closed. Pick either of two entrances on Jeffrey. RACE STAGING in the SOUTHEAST corner of LOT 5.  Park in the lot between the Manaserro Farm Stand and the PA, two-story building.  That is lot 5. We will be the only event on campus!
