Poverello House Run for Meals

Join us on June 1st at Woodward Park at Sunset View Shelter to support the work Poverello House provides to those in need. Bring your family and friends to participate in the 10th Annual Papa Mike's Café Run for Meals 5k Run and 2-Mile Run/Walk. Proceeds will benefit the new Papa Mike's Café . 

At Papa Mike’s Café, we are on a mission to offer more than just meals; we are dedicated to providing a restaurant-style experience for all individuals in our community. With a warm ambiance and attentive service, our goal is to make every visitor feel at home.

Papa Mike’s Café was inspired in 2006. The concept was to provide a special 3-course meal to clients, one meal a month, complete with menus and servers. Volunteers who were waiters and waitresses took the client’s orders and served them. Poverello House CEO, Zack Darrah, expanded this concept to provide a daily restaurant experience. This achievement was made possible through extensive planning meetings and a comprehensive renovation of our kitchen, generously supported by the County of Fresno. Additional gratitude goes to the St. Augustine Foundation, Isnardi Foundation, and the entire community, whose contributions played a crucial role in bringing this project to fruition.

Guests will enter the restaurant and have the option to choose from a menu offering 3-5 delectable meal options, accompanied by a choice of refreshing Coca-Cola beverages.

Menu options for breakfast include a Breakfast Burrito, Biscuits and Gravy, and Chicken and Waffles. Menu options for lunch and dinner include the Papa Mike’s Burger, BBQ Burger, Chicken Tender Sandwich, Pastrami Panini Sandwich, Three Taco Plate, Loaded Asada Fries, and much more!

The 2 Mile Run/Walk begins at 8:00 AM, and the 5K race starts at 8:15 AM.

Young children are welcome, and no sign-up is required. Sign-up is only required for 12 and under for timed results and a t-shirt.
