Polish Independence 10K/5K Run/Walk

Polish Independence 10K/5K Run/Walk is a race celebrating Poland’s return as an independent country on November 11th, 1918. With a long tradition in Poland, the run has been organized annually in Chicago since 2018 by WPNA 103.1 FM, Polish American Mix. Polish Independence Run’s USATF-certified, chip-timed course runs along the beautiful Lake Michigan starting at Montrose Harbor. All participants receive a custom finisher’s medal, event T-shirt and lunch. All ages.

Radio 103.1 FM zaprasza na Bieg Niepodległości 2023! Organizowany od 2018 r. Bieg Niepodległości to okazja do uczczenia na sportowo rocznicy odzyskania przez Polskę niepodległości. Dwa dystanse do wyboru: bieg na 10 km oraz bieg lub marsz na 5 km. Trasa przy jeziorze Michigan zaczyna się na Montrose Harbor. Każdy uczestnik Biegu otrzymuje koszulkę i medal za pokonanie trasy. Po biegu wspólny lunch. Dołącz do nas!

Entry Fees:
Adult 10K & 5K runs: $50 until 8/31, $55 from 9/1 - 9/30, $60 from 10/1 - 10/29
Adult 5K walk and virtual 5K run: $40 until 8/31, $45 from 9/1 - 9/30, $50 from 10/1 - 10/29
Kids under 12: $5 off, discount added automatically at registration
Groups 10+: $5 discount per group member applied after group reaches 10 members.

Location: Polish National Alliance building, 6100 N Cicero Ave, Chicago
Saturday, Oct 21, from 9am to 3pm
Tuesday, Oct 24 and Thursday, Oct 26, from 8am to 6pm

Location: Fleet Feet Deerfield, 800 Waukegan Rd, Deerfield
Wednesday, Oct 25, from noon to 6pm           

DAY OF EVENT PACKET PICK UP AT THE PACKET PICK UP TENT OPEN FROM 9AM.                                                                                                                                                     

Event Schedule (Sunday, October 29):
9:00 am - registration, packet pick up, gear check opens 
10:00 am - opening ceremony
11:00 am - national anthems at start line 
11:11am - 10K start
11:21am - 5K start
11:23am - walk start
11:30am-1:30 pm - lunch, celebration & awards

Chip Timing:
The 10K and 5K races are chip timed. Chips are attached to the race bibs and are disposable. Chip timing is not guaranteed for race day registrants.
