Olmsted Ugly Sweater Run 3

Welcome to the 6th Annual Olmsted Ugly Sweater Run!  For our returning runners/walkers, welcome back!  For those who are first time participants with us, THANK YOU for choosing to support us!  

 

***LONG SLEEVE RACE TSHIRTS ARE NOW INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION PRICE!  YOU DO HAVE THE OPTION OF NOT INCLUDING A SHIRT AND TAKING $10.00 OFF WHAT YOU PAY.   ***BECAUSE OF VENUE SIZE WE ARE PLACING A 300 PARTICIPANT CAP (125 runners, 125 walkers, 50 Kids Reindeer Rush) ON THE 1-MILE RUN/STROLL!***

 

This is our 5th and Final race of the 2024 Olmsted Spirit Race Series.   This event is a 1-mile competitive run.  We also offer a friendly non-competitive 1-mile holiday stroll down Bagley Road with your favorite family/friends/dog(s).   After our 1-Mile Walk and Stroll, we will have our 2nd Annual Kids Reindeer Rush (400 meter and 100 meter options this year)!!  New this year included in the Kids 400 meter race is the final run in our Inaugural Youth Championship Series!  

The Youth Championship Series Consists of Two Divisions - The Blue Division is for Ages 10 and Under and the Gold Division is for Ages 11 to 13.  

The girl and boy winner of each division will win a Series Trophy and $200 Gift Card to Second Sole Lakewood!  

This event is dog and stroller friendly and we encourage you to dress up in the ugliest sweater or awesome holiday themed costume you can find!  

 

RACE DAY INFORMATION:

 

***IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR OUR RACE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES PARTICIPANTS:

***There may be many new runners competing in our final race of the season.  Remember, to qualify for our Race Championship Series, you must compete in at least three of our five races.  With this information, only our participants who qualify for and have been running in our Championship Series will be awarded points (Top 10 Overall F/M and Top F/M in our age groups).  An example of what we mean is below:

Christian is currently in first for the Mens Division for our Championship Series.  Let's say he finishes fifth overall in the Ugly Sweater Mile Race, but is the only one who qualifies for the Championship Series having run all of our events.  The other four are new runners who finished ahead of him do not qualify.  Christian will be rewarded with 20 points being the Top Male that is eligible and part of our Series.  However, whoever finishes first overall will still be awarded Overall Champ for the Ugly Sweater Race, but he will not take any points for the Series.  This example also applies for the Womens Division.

BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR! THE SUB 5:00 MINUTE MILE CHALLENGE!!!

 

With the change to a now straightaway mile course instead of a U-Turn at the 800m mark, we want to see some really fast times!   To add some incentive we are offering a $100 cash prize to the top overall female and male if you run a 4:59 or under mile (male) or 5:14 mile or under (female) and win your respective race division! 

**Any college or below student will earn a $100 gift certificate to 2nd Sole Lakewood in place of the $100 cash prize if they run sub 5:00/5:15 and earn top honors overall**

 

Our event will be on Sunday, December 8th and will start at 9:00am.  This is a timed, competitive 1-mile run or fun and friendly one mile un-timed walk.  The KIDS REINDEER Rush will also be un-timed (however, the first place kid will win a prize at the award ceremony).   The race course is simple.  You will start on Bagley Road in front of the Papa's Produce Stand by Glenbrooke Road and finish just past the white Stearns Plaza Sign in front of Roasted Coffee Shop .

Registration Cost:

General Registration (Ages 11 and Up) - $45 (through Nov 30), $50 (Dec 1- Race Day)

Youth Registration (Ages 13 and Under) - $40 (through Nov 30), $45 (Dec 1 -Race Day) - 

KIDS REINDEER RUSH (Ages 13 and Under.  This price also includes kids participating in our Youth Series Championship) - $30 (through Nov 30), $35 (Dec 1 - Race Day)

400 meter Run chasing after one of Santa's Reindeer!! There will also be a shorter 100 meter option this year for younger kids! (now includes the Youth Championship 400 Meter Run)

***IMPORTANT - Please note if you have a child Ages 13 and Under who sign up for the "Adult" races, they can also compete in our new Youth Series Championship or just run the youth races for fun.  The Youth events are included in the adult package if your child is 13 and Under!  A question in your registration will ask you if your child will be participating in the youth events!**** 

 

WHAT YOU GET WITH REGISTRATION:

 

KIDS Reindeer Rush participants will all receive a finisher medal.  

Everyone gets one raffle ticket (more will be available to purchase at the event)

Your choice of one small drip coffee or hot chocolate

A delicious homemade Holiday Cookie From CLE Cookie Bar!

 

AWARDS

The Top Female/Male Overall will receive a special custom award and the Top F/M Overall will receive a plaque and prize!

Top Overall Female/Male in the following age groups will receive a small plaque:

10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-34 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+  

Best dressed Adult and Kid will receive a prize too!

There will be a post-race raffle inside the coffee shop.  

 

Santa will also be in attendance to take pictures with you and your kids and/or dogs!  

 

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Christians In Action Food Pantry
