Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon

The most significant improvement this year was the race kit collection process. It was exceptionally well-organised and streamlined. I was able to collect my race bib in just 10 minutes after entering the KL Convention Centre hall. On race day, the train service operated all night and its free. The half-marathon began promptly at 5:15 AM. There were numerous water stations and one (or may be two) free energy gel booths along the course. As anticipated, the route was hilly, and the weather was humid. Most of the route was closed to traffic. The cheers from spectators in the final 600 meters were exhilarating. At the finish line, runners received a medal, isotonic drink, water, banana, pear, and a tote bag.

It was well organized. Short way from the subway, even tho I walked from my hotel hehe. The route was alright and the medal was decent. Overall a good experience to run Kuala Lumpur.

I have joined this event for 5 times and it was consistently well organized with good quality of tshirt running.

The marathon kicks off at 3 AM, and it's well-organized. The course features plenty of undulating terrain, and it gets super humid. However, worry not, as there are numerous water stations spaced between 4 to 5 km apart throughout the course. Getting to the event was a breeze since the LRT was running all night on the event day. The nearest LRT stops, Masjid Jamek (500m) and Pasar Seni (800m), make it convenient to access. I opted to stay at a nearby hotel, ensuring a longer and more restful sleep before the run. If you're interested in a 1 to 2 km warm-up jog to the start line, there are plenty of hotels within a 2 km radius.

Difficult route because of the elevations coupled with a race in October which not very pleasant. (2023 was extremely hot and humid). Moreover the support is average and post run refreshments are really bad. Overall, not a great run for international runners.

It was an OK run. Nothing much to see. The streets were not cordoned off although the drivers were somewhat patient.

Excellent organizer with everything properly thought through and catered very well for the huge number of runners as well as visitors. Always vibrant and fun content available around creating beautiful memories for anyone involved in the event. Interesting and dynamic running route with pleasant sights and sufficient supplies provided throughout, only weather a bit hot towards the end.
